The Queensland Government has launched its Spit master plan and initial investment plans have also been revealed. The Spit plan was launched on May 25, reflecting some 18 months of consultation and design collaboration. A $60m State Government contribution, along with a $50m investment from Sea World and $35m from the City of Gold Coast, will fund initiatives and master plan outcomes. Deicke Richards, urban designers and workshop facilitators, worked with John Gaskell Planning Consultants as lead consultants, along with Aspect Studios, to assist with developing the plan.
