Earlier this week, DR Practice Fellow, Peter Richards, was inducted into the Urban Design Alliance’s (UDAL) new Hall of Fame at a Christmas gathering of the UDAL board and members. Peter was in good company, joined by other inductees Juris Greste, Malcolm Middleton, and John Byrne.
UDAL’s President, Kathi Holt, noted that “the newly created ‘Hall of Fame’ is about honouring the incredible contribution that highly-respected members of UDAL have made to promote urban design outcomes across practice, teaching, policy and community engagement. This year, and to celebrate its inauguration, the Board voted to induct four, well over-due, long-term champions of urban design. [Future years will see the induction of only one member.]”
The board acknowledged Peter with the following citation: “For leadership in strategic and sustainable urban design thinking, teaching and practice – shared through his distinguished methods of Design Thinking Drawing. His work is underpinned by a strong commitment to sustainability, people and place, that inspires his students, colleagues and clients alike.”
