Genevieve Quinn is a registered Architect and is also our Social Impact Lead. She brings a decade of experience across community-focused projects, housing, and socially responsive design. Genevieve holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Queensland (2019) and is a Queensland Registered Architect (No. 6363) and member of the Australian Institute of Architects. Alongside her practice work, Genevieve contributes to the next generation of designers as a Casual Academic at the University of Queensland and applies her commitment to inclusion through her work as a qualified NDIS Disability Support Worker.
At Deicke Richards Genevieve works primarily on community facility projects and housing. Her work is grounded in a strong interest in social justice, which informs her focus on disaster resilience, housing for vulnerable communities, ethical design processes and inclusive engagement. She is driven by the belief that while buildings cannot solve every challenge, they communicate values such as equity, care and warmth to everyone who encounters them, not only those who commission them.
Genevieve brings expertise in community engagement, accessibility and inclusive design, with standout projects including the Eagleby Wetlands First Nations Space, Toovey Street Community Centre and her role in the Lismore Resilient Lands Program. Her work was exhibited in the Australian Pavilion at the 2023 Venice Biennale.
Genevieve is motivated by an interest in how architecture reflects the zeitgeist of a society and how her designs may contribute to the tapestry of the built environment in her era. She hopes that her architecture stitches threads of social justice, community care, and playfulness, and likes to imagine that one day, in a distant future, archaeologists will uncover our buildings, and see that in our time, people really cared about each other, that everyone was welcome, that our First Nations’ cultures were celebrated, and that we had a lot of fun.
