Zac Gambley, Master of Architecture (University of Queensland, 2025)

Zac is a Graduate of Architecture at Deicke Richards, contributing to the design and documentation of projects across the housing, education, and community sectors. He completed his Master of Architecture at the University of Queensland in 2025. Alongside his professional practice, Zac maintains an active role in architectural education, regularly tutoring design studios at UQ. At Deicke Richards, Zac supports project teams across all phases, bringing curiosity, rigour and a commitment to making good design accessible to all. He is motivated by creating functional, uplifting spaces for people and communities who need and deserve them most. He values the practice’s purpose-driven approach and the opportunity to work on projects with tangible social impact.

With three years of experience, Zac has contributed to residential and community projects, sustainable design, and adaptive reuse. The work he is most proud of includes the Merv Anderson Park amenities, a modest but thoughtful public facility that responds directly to community needs, and the Kurilpa Community Centre, a university project exploring heritage conservation, adaptive reuse and culturally safe public space. He has been recognised with a Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence from the University of Queensland. Zac believes in architecture as a tool for positive social change. He is drawn to design at the scale of human experience, where small decisions meaningfully affect how people live, move and connect. His approach centres on listening and valuing the expertise of clients, collaborators and communities to achieve grounded, people-focused design outcomes.
